Twilight Music Presents É.T.É and Keith Murphy & Yann Falquet at Next Stage

PUTNEY, Vt.—Twilight Music and Next Stage Arts Project present an evening of dynamic traditional music featuring the Québécois trio É.T.É and the contemporary Celtic guitar duo Keith Murphy & Yann Falquet on Saturday, April 11, at Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill in Putney.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $22 in advance, $26 at the door, and $10 for the livestream, available at nextstagearts.org.

É.T.É brings a fresh, contemporary vision to Québécois traditional music. Violinist Élisabeth Moquin, bouzouki player Thierry Clouette, and cellist Élisabeth Giroux blend jazz, progressive rock, and classical influences to craft original compositions and inventive arrangements of Québécois and Acadian repertoire. Their rich vocal harmonies, infectious groove, and lively onstage chemistry transform every kitchen party into an unforgettable show.

Since the release of their 2017 debut album Le bois des midnights, É.T.É has received multiple awards, including the OPUS “Discovery of the Year,” the Linda Lemay Award, and a GAMIQ “Lucien.” The trio has toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Scotland, Belgium, and Australia. Their latest album, Sur ces eaux, was released in November 2022.

Keith Murphy and Yann Falquet are masters of contemporary Celtic guitar, showcasing the textures, harmonies, and rhythmic possibilities the instrument has brought to traditional songs and instrumentals since the Celtic music revival of the 1970s.

As singers, the duo blends Franco and Anglo song traditions with warmth and depth. Falquet draws from a rich repertoire of French-Canadian songs and is widely known for his work with the acclaimed Québécois trio Genticorum, with whom he has been a driving force since the group’s founding. Murphy, a highly respected traditional singer, brings songs from his native Newfoundland as well as Quebec and his current home in Vermont. He was a founding member of the groundbreaking trio Nightingale.

This concert is sponsored in part by the Délégation du Québec à Boston.
