Volunteers Needed to Lead Outdoor Natural Science Lessons at Putney Central School!

Want to learn more about nature? Eager to share the joy of discovery with children? Become a Four Winds volunteer and join a group of parents and community members who share both an interest in nature and a love of children. Four Winds is a community-based organization that provides natural science education for all ages. As a Four Winds Nature Program volunteer, you will bring fun and engaging natural science lessons to the children at Putney Central School.

Adult volunteers meet five times throughout the year right here in our town for a workshop taught by a naturalist from the Four Winds staff. At each training, we’ll learn about a fascinating natural science topic with activities designed to teach children in grades K-5 about this topic and we’ll explore the school grounds and nearby woods and fields.

Then, after the training, volunteers will bring these lessons to the classes and take the children outdoors, leading them through the activities for an up-close look at the month’s topic. This is a great way to meet other people in our community and give the important and rewarding gift of your time to the children in our school. Please join us for the first volunteer training on Tuesday, September 13th at 8:30 at the Town Pool Pavilion behind the school. For more information call or text Emily Pals at 802-258-8468 or email emilypals@gmail.com. All are welcome. Thank you for considering!
