Winter Sunshine Puppetry Series presents Urban Wizard Academy, by Scotty Swan

Come witness magic maker and puppeteer, Scotty Swan with Urban Wizards Academy March 12th at 11am and 2pm. Swan’s work is a unique blend of sleight-of-hand magic, puppetry and improvisation that is woven together in an exhilarating show that gets the audience up off its feet to become part of the performance. This show is for family audiences ages 6 to 12 and sure to be a thrilling delight for parents as well. Scotty Swan is a well-regarded artist and teacher who has been performing throughout the region since 1999. His shows are a unique blend of comedy, magic, 80s pop culture references, silly puppets, amazing illusions and hysterical audience participation, that keep his audiences laughing.
Springfield magician, Scotty Swan, was just eight-years-old when he got his first magic kit. For over 30 years, he’s performed at birthday parties, libraries, schools, and special events. He has been awarded exclusive rights to teach the Discover Magic educational program to his young students in Western MA; a program specifically designed to teach respect, creativity, empathy and public speaking through the process of learning to perform the art of magic.

Also a free online workshop! Material kits can be picked up at the Putney Public library or collected at home.

This series is funded in part by the New England States Touring program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program and the six New England state arts agencies.. Tickets for all Winter Sunshine shows are $9 general admission, or $7.50 for Medicaid cardholders. The great enthusiast can purchase a pass for all four shows for only $30. Due to audience capacity restrictions, festival pass holders must make reservations for performances in advance. Sandglass Theater is an accessible, 60-seat theater located right off of I91, exit 4 in the heart of Putney, Vermont.
